SEMH Teaching Assistant – Chichester Area

Location: Chichester, West Sussex

Hours: 08:30 AM – 03:30 PM, Monday to Friday, Term Time Only

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: £89 per day PAYE, temp to perm

Join a school as a SEMH Teaching Assistant supporting children to access the curriculum and build confidence. We’re looking for someone dependable and caring.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support classroom learning and small group interventions for pupils with social, emotional and mental health needed.

• Help adapt resources and support differentiated approaches.

• Work closely with class teachers and SENCO to monitor progress.

• Support pupils’ social and emotional development and be resilient, calm and confident in moments of children displaying challenging behaviour.

Skills & Experience / What We’re Looking For:

• Empathy, patience and strong interpersonal skills.

• Transferable skills: teamwork, observation, adaptability, record-keeping.

• Experience with SEND and/or mental health is very advantageous.
