Pink Tile Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and caring SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist primary SEND school in Bromley.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and resilient Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and helping them reach their full potential.

The successful candidate will work closely with pupils who have a range of additional needs, including SEMH, communication and interaction needs, learning difficulties and challenging behaviour. You will provide support both within the classroom and on a one-to-one or small-group basis, helping pupils access their learning while developing their confidence, independence, communication and social skills.

This role would suit an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant, SEN TA, Learning Support Assistant, SEMH Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Support Assistant or Support Worker who is looking to develop their experience within a specialist primary setting.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers, SENCOs and the wider support team to provide high-quality support for pupils with additional needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting pupils with a range of SEND and additional needs
• Providing one-to-one and small-group support
• Assisting pupils to access and engage with the curriculum
• Supporting communication, interaction and social development
• Helping pupils develop independence and life skills
• Supporting children with SEMH and emotional regulation needs
• Providing consistent support for pupils who may display challenging behaviour
• Using positive behaviour strategies and agreed approaches to support pupils
• Remaining calm and professional when managing challenging situations
• Helping pupils understand and regulate their emotions
• Supporting pupils’ confidence, wellbeing and personal development
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals
• Following individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and support strategies
• Assisting with classroom activities, resources and general organisation
• Creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment

About You

We are looking for someone who is patient, compassionate, resilient and committed to supporting children with additional needs.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND
• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs
• Confidence working with challenging behaviour
• A calm and consistent approach
• The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
• Patience and empathy
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to follow individual support and behaviour plans
• A genuine passion for helping children develop and succeed
• The resilience to work effectively in a busy specialist school environment

Support Worker experience is highly valued, particularly experience supporting children with complex needs, behavioural difficulties, autism, communication needs or other additional needs.

A driving licence is preferred, although this is not essential.
