Are you a Teaching Assistant passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?

A specialist SEND school in Slough is looking for a caring, patient and resilient Teaching Assistant / SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils with a range of additional needs and help them develop their confidence, independence and engagement in learning.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support pupils with a range of SEND, SEN and additional learning needs
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support where required
• Support pupils to engage with learning and classroom activities
• Encourage communication, confidence and independence
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
• Work closely with teachers and the wider school team
• Provide a calm, consistent and nurturing presence throughout the school day

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

• Experienced working with children or young people
• Ideally experienced supporting pupils with SEND, SEN, autism, ADHD or learning difficulties
• Calm, patient, nurturing and resilient
• Confident building strong relationships with pupils
• Able to support children with a range of individual needs
• Passionate about helping young people reach their potential

Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, SEND Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or within a care or youth work setting would be beneficial.
