Role: Teaching Assistant
Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday
Contract: Long-term
Pay: £14.25+ per hour, depending on experience

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, Behaviour Mentor or Youth Worker looking for a rewarding full-time, long-term opportunity?

We are working with a specialist SEMH school in the Wadhurst area, supporting children and young people aged 7–16 with highly complex needs, including SEMH, ADHD and ASD.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with experienced teachers and support staff to provide consistent, nurturing and individualised support to pupils who may struggle within a mainstream environment.

You will help pupils to:

• Access learning and develop confidence
• Manage emotions and challenging behaviour
• Build positive relationships with staff and peers
• Develop social, emotional and communication skills
• Engage with structured classroom activities
• Make progress both academically and personally

We’re Looking For

The school would particularly suit someone who is:

• Experienced working with SEMH, ASD, ADHD or challenging behaviour
• Calm, patient and emotionally resilient
• Confident managing complex behaviour
• Able to build strong, trusting relationships with young people
• Consistent and positive in their approach
• Passionate about supporting children who need additional help to succeed

Previous experience in SEND, SEMH, Alternative Provision, residential care, youth work or similar environments is highly desirable, although the right attitude and approach are equally important.
