Job Title: Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (ADHD Support)
Location: Horsham, West Sussex
Hours: 4 days per week, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Contract: Term-time only – temporary with possibility of permanent contract.
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a secondary school in Horsham. The role involves supporting students with ADHD in both 1:1 and small group settings, helping them to engage with learning, develop independence, and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
Provide tailored 1:1 support for students with ADHD
Support small groups in and out of the classroom
Assist students with focus, organisation, emotional regulation, and behaviour for learning
Work closely with teachers and the SEN team to implement support strategies
Monitor progress and contribute to review meetings where appropriate
Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Requirements
Experience supporting children or young people with ADHD (in a school or similar setting)
A patient, calm, and proactive approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (essential)
Ability to commit to 4 days per week, 8:30am–3:30pm
Desirable
Previous experience in a secondary school setting
Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support
