Are you passionate about making a difference in young people’s lives? We’re looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and welcoming team at a lovely secondary school in Wadhurst.

This role is an incredible opportunity to work closely with students who have complex needs, supporting their educational and personal development in a vibrant and inclusive learning environment. Whether you’re experienced or looking to bring transferable skills from another sector, we’d love to hear from you!

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting teachers to plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual student needs.
  • Providing one-to-one or small group support to help students thrive.
  • Creating a safe, positive, and inspiring classroom environment.
  • Assisting students with special educational needs or behavioural challenges.
  • Helping manage classroom behaviour and fostering a calm learning atmosphere.
  • Preparing learning materials and resources for lessons.
  • Supervising students during break times and school activities, ensuring their wellbeing and safety.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience: Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or working with SEND is fantastic, but not essential. Backgrounds in care, nurseries, support work, or volunteering with transferable skills are equally valued.
  • Skills: Strong communication, teamwork, and a proactive approach.
  • Qualities: Patience, empathy, adaptability, and a genuine passion for working with young people.
  • Requirements: A DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) and availability during school hours.
