Salary: £20,000 – £26,000 per annum (depending on experience)

🏫 About the Role

We are excited to be recruiting Teaching Assistants for a brand-new specialist school supporting students aged 11–16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needsAutism Spectrum Condition (ASC), and associated learning differences.

As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment. You’ll work closely with teachers, therapists, and the wider team to support students in overcoming barriers to learning and achieving their full potential.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a growing, values-driven provision from the ground up.


📌 Key Responsibilities

  • Provide in-class support to students with SEMH and ASC needs
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with young people
  • Support the implementation of personalised learning plans and behaviour strategies
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals
  • Promote emotional regulation, resilience, and independence
  • Contribute to a calm, trauma-informed school culture

👤 About You

We’re looking for individuals who:

  • Have experience working with children or young people with additional needs (SEMH/ASC preferred)
  • Are patient, empathetic, and emotionally resilient
  • Thrive in a team environment and are open to learning
  • Are passionate about inclusive education and making a difference
  • Hold relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) – desirable but not essential
