We are seeking a compassionate, proactive and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a warm and supportive SEND Pod within a mainstream primary school. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with KS1 children with a range of Special Educational Needs, supporting both learning and emotional development in a nurturing, structured environment.
You will be joining a small team supporting a group of 15 children, helping them access learning, develop confidence and thrive in school life.
Provide 1:1 and small-group support within the SEND Pod
Assist with structured learning activities tailored to individual needs
Support children with communication, social skills and emotional regulation
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO and wider school staff
Help maintain a safe, calm and engaging learning environment
Support with personal care where and if required
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
Encourage independence, routine and confidence-building
Monitor progress and contribute to learning plans when needed
We welcome candidates from a variety of backgrounds. Transferable skills are valued, and experience in any of the following is highly desirable:
Nursery or early years
Care or support work
Youth work
SEND experience
Support roles with children or vulnerable individuals
