Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with autism and special educational needs?
We are looking for dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants, Autism Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants to work in a specialist school in Guildford, supporting pupils aged 2–19 with autism (ASC/ASD), severe learning difficulties, communication needs and complex physical, sensory or medical needs.
Hours: 8:45am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday
Pay: £14.25 per hour
Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with autism and complex learning needs.
Support communication, emotional regulation, social interaction and independence.
Help pupils access learning through structured activities and individualised support.
Work alongside teachers to meet pupils’ individual needs.
Assist with personal care or physical needs where required.
The school uses specialist approaches including TEACCH, Attention Autism, PECS and Intensive Interaction. Experience with these approaches is beneficial but not essential.
Experience supporting children with autism, SEND, severe learning difficulties or complex needs is desirable. Candidates with experience in schools, nurseries, care settings or support work are encouraged to apply.
You should be patient, caring, reliable and keen to help children develop their confidence and independence.
Applicants must have the right to work in the UK or a valid work visa, suitable references and an Enhanced DBS on the Children’s Workforce Update Service, or be willing to obtain one.
Pay includes 12.07% holiday pay. We aim to respond within three working days, although individual feedback may not be possible due to application volumes.
