Pink Tile Education is looking for a caring, resilient and confident Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school near Chichester, supporting boys aged 7–16 with social, emotional and mental health needs.
Many pupils have additional needs, including autism, ADHD, attachment difficulties, anxiety and speech and language needs. The school provides a specialist learning environment where building positive relationships, promoting emotional wellbeing and helping pupils engage with education are central to the role.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people who may have experienced challenges in education and who can make a genuine difference to their school day.
Please note: The school is in a rural location, so you must be a driver with access to your own vehicle to get to and from work.
Support pupils with their learning, development and emotional wellbeing throughout the school day.
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and develop confidence.
Use effective behaviour management strategies to support pupils who may display challenging behaviour or become dysregulated.
Help create a safe, structured and supportive learning environment.
Work closely with teachers and other support staff to meet pupils’ individual needs.
Encourage positive choices, emotional regulation, independence and social development.
Adapt your approach to suit different learning styles and individual needs.
Experience working with children or young people with SEND, SEMH or challenging behaviour.
Excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to develop trust with pupils who may find school challenging.
Strong behaviour management skills, with a calm, consistent and patient approach.
Resilience, flexibility and the confidence to respond positively to challenging situations.
A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning.
The ability to work effectively as part of a supportive team.
A full driving licence and access to a car, due to the school’s rural location.
At Pink Tile Education, we believe in finding the right fit for every school and every candidate. We work closely with our schools to understand their needs and match them with people who can make a real difference.
Competitive daily pay of £93.
A dedicated consultant offering ongoing support.
Opportunities to gain valuable experience in specialist SEND and SEMH settings.
A friendly, approachable team that puts people first.
