The Role

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide 1:1 support to pupils who require additional assistance
• Support teaching and learning within the classroom
• Work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons
• Deliver small group intervention sessions
• Support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
• Assist with literacy and numeracy activities
• Promote positive behaviour and support pupils with challenging behaviour when required
• Help prepare classroom resources and educational displays
• Encourage pupil engagement, confidence and achievement
• Create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment

Candidate Requirements

We are looking for individuals who are:

• Positive, enthusiastic and proactive
• Passionate about supporting children’s learning and development
• Calm, patient and adaptable
• Reliable with excellent communication skills
• Able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
• Confident working independently and as part of a team
• Comfortable supporting children with a range of learning and behavioural needs
• Dedicated to promoting positive learning experiences
• Experience working within an educational setting is desirable but not essential

Essential Requirements

• Right to work in the UK
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
• Two professional references covering the last two years
• Previous experience working with children or young people is advantageous
