A welcoming and well-established primary school in Hastings is looking to expand its trusted bank of Teaching Assistants to support children across Key Stage 1 and 2.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who enjoys working with younger pupils and wants the flexibility of supply work while becoming a familiar face within one supportive school.

Whether covering staff absence, supporting intervention groups or providing additional classroom support, you’ll play an important role in helping children build confidence and thrive during these vital early years of education.


The Role

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and classroom activities.
  • Work with small groups to develop phonics, reading, writing and numeracy skills.
  • Help create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
  • Encourage children’s confidence, independence and emotional wellbeing.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.

We’re Looking For Someone Who

  • Has previous experience working within a primary school.
  • Enjoys supporting children in the early stages of their education.
  • Has a patient, enthusiastic and nurturing approach.
  • Can work confidently as part of a classroom team.
  • Is reliable, adaptable and eager to make a difference.

A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential for candidates with relevant school-based experience.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience within a UK primary school.
