Teaching Assistant – SEMH School in Crawley

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school in Crawley. This full-time, term-time-only role involves supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs in a structured, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting students in the classroom and around the school

  • Providing consistent, individualised support to promote engagement, independence, and learning

  • Working closely with teaching and support staff to implement strategies and interventions

  • Promoting positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and social development

  • Ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed at all times

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or challenging behaviours

  • A patient, calm, and supportive approach

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Knowledge of safeguarding and confidence applying best practice

  • A genuine passion for supporting students with SEMH needs
