A welcoming one-form entry primary school on the outskirts of Horsham is seeking a dedicated Year 6 Primary Teacher to join their team on a maternity cover basis. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a well-established class and work alongside a supportive senior leadership team who are committed to high standards and pupil success.

Due to the school’s rural location, applicants will need to be drivers with access to their own vehicle.

The Role

• Full-time Year 6 Teacher
• Maternity Cover
• Start Date: After October Half Term
• Paid on the M1-M6 Teacher Pay Scale
• Full teaching responsibilities including planning, assessment and parent communication
• Interviews taking place this month
• One-form entry primary school
• Supportive leadership and experienced staff team

About the Class

The Year 6 class is a lively and engaging group of pupils who respond well to clear expectations, consistency and strong classroom leadership.

There are a small number of pupils with EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans) within the class, so experience supporting children with additional needs would be highly advantageous. The successful candidate will be confident adapting learning, working collaboratively with support staff and ensuring every child can achieve their potential.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Has experience teaching in Key Stage 2
• Demonstrates excellent behaviour management and classroom presence
• Can build positive relationships whilst maintaining high expectations
• Has experience supporting pupils with SEND and EHCPs
• Is organised, proactive and committed to raising attainment
• Can prepare pupils effectively for SATs and their transition to secondary school
• Has a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
