A friendly and welcoming one-form entry primary school in North Horsham is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support a Year 6 pupil with additional needs on a full-time basis.

🌟 The Role

You will work closely with a Year 6 pupil who requires additional support both within the classroom and during wider school activities.

Working alongside the class teacher and SENDCo, you will:

• Provide dedicated support throughout the school day
• Help the pupil access the Year 6 curriculum
• Promote confidence, engagement and independence
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
• Adapt learning activities where required
• Assist with SATs preparation and classroom learning
• Encourage positive relationships with peers
• Work collaboratively with school staff and parents

• Patient, caring and positive
• Confident supporting children with SEND
• Able to build strong relationships and trust
• Calm under pressure and adaptable
• Passionate about helping children succeed
• Experienced within schools, childcare, youth work or SEND settings

Experience supporting children with:

• Autism (ASD)
• ADHD
• SEMH needs
• Anxiety or emotional regulation difficulties

would be highly advantageous.
